Crown Point Fire Department Announces Emergency Hiring Process

The Crown Point Fire Department is accepting applications for firefighter paramedics to fill an immediate vacancy. The application period opens today, Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, and closes at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. 

Eligibility Requirements 

• Certified firefighter 
• Licensed paramedic 
• Eligible for enrollment in the 1977 Police Officers and Firefighters Retirement Fund (PERF) 

• Valid driver’s license 
• No felony convictions 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) within the past 12 months 
• Experience as a full-time firefighter-paramedic 
• Currently enrolled in the 1977 Retirement Fund
