Stroke Symposium

The free Stroke Symposium is from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, May 3 at St. Mary Medical Center, 1500 S. Lake Park Ave., Hobart. Topics at the event include:

8:30 a.m. – Stroke is an Emergency, presented by Lauren Rutili, DO, EMS medical director, St. Mary Medical Center
9 a.m. – Stroke: Always B.E.F.A.S.T., presented by Mark Simaga, MD, medical director, St. Mary Medical Center Stroke Center
10:15 a.m. – Innovations in Stroke Prevention, presented by Kais Yehyawi, MD, interventional cardiologist
11:15 a.m. – Get Your Plate in Shape Cooking Demonstration, presented by chef Ryan Smith

Event will offer hemoglobin A1C screenings and cholesterol testing. Fasting is recommended.
