Merry Christmas from the Young Family!
We look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday, December 23rd at 9 & 10:45a and Monday, December 24th at 5 & 7p.
I can't wait to talk this weekend about the Light Who has come into our dark world. We hope your Christmas is filled with lots of joy!

What's new at Calvary...
Lectio Divina
Beginning January 1, 2013, Pastor Lionel will be leading our church through the entire Bible! Be sure to join us for a few minutes each day to read the scriptures and short devotional written by our senior pastor. Get a sneak peak at www.CalvaryDevos.net.
Christmas Eve Worship Services
Join us for a special evening of worship and celebration at our Christmas Eve service on Monday, December 24. Services will be at 5 & 7p. Childcare will be available for infants through preschoolers at the 5p service.
Children's Ministries
Attention Rock Solid Kids Parents! We will give our dedicated K-5th teachers a break over the Christmas/New Year holiday; there will be no classes for K-5th graders this Sunday, 12.23 and 12.30. Childcare will be available for infants through preschoolers during both services. Activity bags will be available at the Info Desk for elementary-aged children joining their parents in the Worship Service.
Here at Calvary, the safety of your children is a top priority. We have several policies in place to assure the safety of your children while they are in our care. We would like to remind our parents about the importance of your Guardian Receipt. This receipt is required to re-enter the Children's Ministry Wing and to pick up your child. Our policy is that a child may not be released to anyone who does not have a matching Guardian Receipt. If you lose your receipt, please see a volunteer at the Children's Welcome Center and present your photo ID. If you have any questions or concerns about our safety & security policies, please contact Director of Children's Ministries, Victoria Evans-Peasley (victoria@calvaryweb.net).
AWANA Club
There will be no AWANA club next Wednesday, 12.26 and 1.2, due to Christmas break! Have a great holiday and we look forward to seeing all the clubbers when AWANA resumes on 1.9!
Student Ministries
Reliant and Connect Students should be here this Sunday night, 12.23 from 5:30-8p as Student Ministries continue!
Connect Night will not be held this evening.
The teens were able to have a good time (party) at their church, and hangout with over five hundred of their peers on Sunday night during the Family Force 5 concert. Testimonies to the Gospel's power were presented. Uptown Cafe ran out of Soda when the last band went on, and by the end of the night Verona Pizza was virtually out of pizza. Their generosity combined with the attendee's donations lifted one child out of poverty for the next three years!
Coffee with the Pastors
Calvary guests are invited to join us Sunday, 1.6 from 6:30-8p at Cornucopia Coffee Company. Learn about Calvary’s values and vision, and take the opportunity to ask questions of the pastoral staff in a casual environment. We would love to meet you! RSVP at the Info Desk or online.
Covenant Groups
Covenant Small Group Ministry is the primary vehicle for discipleship and care within the Calvary family. Joining a small group is essential to getting “plugged in”. Open registration for the next session is Sunday, 1.6-1.13. If you are interested in registering for a Covenant Group then we encourage you to attend one of the four orientation classes offered in room 300 during the worship services on 1.13 & 1.20.
Calvary Bookstore
Looking for a couple of last minute gifts to share with your family this Christmas? Stop by the Calvary Bookstore for one of our recommended books such as Pastor Lionel's recently published book, A New Kind of Missionary or a copy of the Calvary Live worship album, Mighty Fortress.
Resources for You
Want to explore more of Scripture with your church family? Calvary has several ways to dig into the biblical truths presented on Sunday mornings. You can listen to Pastor Lionel's sermon again or read his sermon blog, Miscellanies, to pick up details you missed or to refresh your memory. Sermon Study Guides encourage Groups and individuals to pursue a greater understanding of the Bible text discussed on Sunday and to apply it to daily life. Study guides are posted with the sermons and are also available at the Info Desk or from Covenant Group leaders.
Generous Holiday Assistance
This holiday season we are providing Aldi gift cards to those in need, and we have already been able to serve over 80 people from our church and community. If you or someone you know has a special need, please contact lori@calvaryweb.net. If you would like to support our efforts, you may make a tax deductible contribution to the Calvary Church Compassion Fund.
