porter-county-museumLearn about the History of Indiana State Forests On March 14 at 2p, the Porter County Museum is excited to welcome Ball State University's History of the State Forests Project and historian and preservation activist Glory-June Greiff to speak about the State Forests of Indiana. While Porter County doesn’t boast a State Forest, Indiana has fourteen designated forests with a wide variety of recreational activities. Until Ball State’s project, this history had yet to be recorded. Visit the Museum to learn more about this recently compiled history.

Porter County Museum Hosts Women’s History Family Day Celebrate Women’s History Month at the PoCo Muse! One year ago, the Museum opened Making Her Place: Porter County Women’s History. During the Sundays @ the PoCo Muse on March 15 from 1-4p, revisit the exhibit and explore this important history. Younger visitors are invited to learn about the inspirational history of Porter County women through crafts, activities, and a scavenger hunt. Help us celebrate the accomplishments of Porter County women!
