The Valparaiso AAUW Affiliate held its annual Holiday Scholarship Benefit on Saturday, December 3rd. from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Walden Pavilion in Valparaiso. Members and their guests enjoyed a variety of hors d’oeuvres and beverages including champagne. Items in a silent auction included a painting by Lila Cohen, a champagne basket by Connie Swanson, and a crocheted afghan by Star Koelm.
Ticket sales and the auction will benefit the AAUW Foundation Fund that provides scholarships for women living in Porter County. AAUW is a national organization whose mission advances equity for women through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. The Valparaiso affiliate has awarded scholarships since 2000. www.aauwvalparaiso.org
