Washington Township High School Announces 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees The Washington Township High School Hall of Fame Selection Committee has announced their inductees for this year's 2018 class which includes Beth (Brown) Nowak (Class of 1996) and Diane Warren, retired WTHS School Counselor & sponsor of WTHs Student Council and Key Club.

Sons of Norway Scandiana Lodge Iceland Program and Potluck Dinner – Feb 9
On February 9, 2017 at 5:30 PM, all are invited to an Icelandic Travel Log program presented by Bruce Johnson of La Porte at the Chesterton Library Service Center in Chesterton, IN.

At 5:30 PM, a potluck dinner will be served. After the dinner, Bruce Johnson will present his travels to Iceland with interesting stories and photos.

Purdue Northwest to host 28th Regional Science Olympiad – Feb 10
For the 28th consecutive year, Purdue University Northwest will host the regional Northwest Indiana Science Olympiad on Saturday, Feb. 10. More than 20 student teams from Northwest Indiana middle schools and high schools will compete at the Hammond Campus, 2200 169th Street, for a spot at the final championship in March.

Victorian Valentine Tea Party – Feb 10
Join us for an afternoon of quaint Valentine crafts and a Victorian-style tea complete with finger sandwiches served on china. Children $35 each, adults accompany for free.

Epic Film Music Concert: The Music of Harry Potter – Feb 10
Valparaiso University Music Department hosts this concert. Valparaiso High School Wind Symphony and Symphonic Winds perform side by side with Valparaiso University Chamber Concert Band.

Maple City Ice Fishing Classic – Feb 10
Visit Michigan City LaPorte proudly hosts the Maple City Ice Fishing Classic sponsored by Friends of Fishing. Registration 5am CST at Cummings Lodge located on Stone Lake. Once registered, fishermen are free to begin fishing any LaPorte City Lake. Return with your catch by 12pm CST. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st place by length in 6 categories: Pike, Bass, Bluegill/Red Ear, Crappie, Perch and Walleye.
