Porter County Recycling & Waste Reduction Showcases Young Artists

America Recycles Day took place last month and Porter County Recycling celebrated with their 2018 Billboard Contest. Young artists from schools across Porter County, such as Portage High School, Washington Township, and Chesterton Middle School, submitted unique pieces of art highlighting the importance of recycling and how it helps save the planet.

Three winners were chosen out of 121 submissions and had their work displayed on four high impact billboard locations around Northwest Indiana throughout November.

Congrats to Izabella Flores of Nativity of Our Savior School, Allison Kobialka of Chesterton Middle School, and Madelyn Russell also of Chesterton Middle School for grabbing the top honors!

Through their art, the students helped complete the mission of America Recycles Day, which is to inform, educate, and get the community excited about what can be accomplished when we all work together.

Check out their work and all the other brilliant creations from the contest’s finalists at https://portercountyrecycling.org/2018-america-recycles-day-billboard-design-contest.
