Maureen Hughes, RN, BSN, has been named the new Director of Nursing for Orthopedic and Oncology Nursing Units at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus. Hughes came to Porter from Ingalls Memorial Hospital where she was a Patient Care Manager for the Orthopedic and Neurology Medical Surgical Units and the Joint and Spine Center. Hughes has more than 20 years of nursing experience.
Lisa Stemler, RN, BSN, is the new Unit Director of 4-East. Stemler joined Porter in 2000, and has been acting interim director since January of 2009. Stemler has more than 17 years of nursing experience, with previous positions at Associated Homecare, Inc., and St. Anthony Medical Center.
