Service advisory: South Shore Line modified schedule revision for April 1, 2020

At the time the South Shore Line implemented the modified weekday schedule last week, we placed two extra trains in the morning and evening rush hour periods. Scheduling was based upon ridership levels at that time, but a lot can change in one week during this pandemic.

We are at a point where we see plenty of capacity during the evening rush hour period, and have the opportunity to provide service during the mid-day where a large gap existed. In an effort to accommodate commuters seeking an early afternoon eastbound departure, we are revising the modified eastbound train service, effective Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

The SSL continues to operate the temporary modified weekday train schedule until further notice, and beginning April 1, eastbound Train 801 will depart Millennium Station at 2:55 p.m. As such, there will no longer be a 5:05 p.m. departure time. The revised Train 801 schedule will be as follows:

EB TRAIN 801 effective 4/1/20
Millennium Station 2:55p
Van Buren St. 2:58
Museum Campus/11th St. 3:01

All other modified weekday train times will remain the same, and weekend train schedules will not be changed.

Any additional changes in service will be promptly posted to our homepage at www.mysouthshoreline.com, our South Shore Line Facebook and Twitter pages, our mobile app, and via email notifications.
