South Shore Orchestra to do a Pre-China Tour

Join South Shore Orchestra and Music Director Troy Webdell for their Pre-China Tour concert, Dreams and Visions, on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the Ivy Tech College Auditorium Theater.

South Shore Orchestra is the 1st American orchestra ever invited by the Confucius Institute of International Knowledge to perform a series of seven (7) New Year’s concerts throughout Eastern China including performances in Shanghai and Beijing from December 26, 2009 – January 7, 2010. Touring with South Shore Orchestra will be WFMT’s very own Peter Van De Graaff and his wife Kathleen as guest vocalists. Music for the December 4th concert featuresThe Butterfly Lovers violin concerto performed by artist-in-residence Gregory Maytan, and Michael Schelle’s piano concerto Wright Flight performed by Japanese pianist Miho Sasaki. Also music by Strauss, Anderson and some holiday surprises.
