VHS Honors Art Students Paint Displays for the Salvation Army (with photos)

For the past 10 years, the Valparaiso High School Honors Art students have teamed up with the local Salvation Army to paint window displays for their Angel Tree program. This year was no exception, as the students painted window displays this past Tuesday, December 1. The students, along with their teacher Marilyn Hanson, utilize their skills to paint angels, trees, and a fireplace to hang in the windows of the donated space.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree has been making Christmas brighter for children across Porter County every year. This holiday donation program provides families in need with food, clothing, and children’s gifts for the holidays. A toy drive is also held. Last year in Porter County, 530 families and more than 1,000 children were assisted, with numbers expected to grow substantially this year.
