Valparaiso University Performing Arts Gear Up for a Semester of Events

Valparaiso University invites friends, family, and the community to a variety of concerts, shows, recitals, and music festivals this upcoming semester. All events are at the Chapel of the Resurrection unless otherwise noted. 

Events begin with a Music Showcase Recital at the Duesenberg Recital Hall on Monday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. The Chorale and Symphony Orchestra will take the stage on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. for the annual Homecoming Concert. The Chorale will return Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and will join a variety of Christmas events at the end of the semester. In addition to playing at the Homecoming concert and holiday events, the orchestra will hold its second annual Halloween Concert on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. at the Chapel of the Resurrection. Attendees of all ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged. 

Tuesday, Oct. 31 will see the Bach Institute present Gesualdo Six and High School Honor Festival. 

The Chamber Concert Band, Luce Concert Band, and Community/University Concert Band will perform for Family Weekend on Saturday, Nov. 4 starting at 4 p.m. The Jazz Ensemble will take the stage at the University Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

An individual faculty recital will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 as Joseph Bognar, D.M.A., associate professor of music and Nicole Lee M.M., adjunct professor of music, perform four-hand piano selections.
