BucherTech opens applications for 2023 IT grant program

Bucher Technologies (BucherTech) is now accepting applications for its annual IT grant program, where it will award grants, based on need, of IT products and services to nonprofits around Northwest Indiana.

Tim Bucher, founder of BucherTech, created the grant program in 2019. Since then, the company has awarded over $30,000 in grants to nonprofits around the Region that were struggling to meet modern IT standards. Designed to meet specific needs, organizations have used the grant for new laptops, charging stations, printers, video conferencing systems, phones, and more.

“As Jesus said, ‘Tis more blessed to give than receive,’” said Bucher. “When you decide to help somebody, no strings attached, that’s a neat feeling. Our goal is to help people not live like IT paupers, to let them use technology that most of us take for granted.”

Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit around Northwest Indiana is eligible for BucherTech’s IT grant, and Bucher makes it a goal to reach a wide variety of organizations. Here is a list of some last year’s winners and how they made use of their grants.

NWI Women’s Center: Used a $2,500 grant from BucherTech to provide and install new PCs, providing a comprehensive technology upgrade.
