On the beautiful morning of August 14, the Strack & Van Til Charity Foundation hosted its annual golf outing at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point. Over 300 Strack & Van Til employees and vendors took to the course to enjoy a pleasant game of golf and support a good cause in the process.

“This annual golf outing has been going on for over 40 years,” Strack said. “It has morphed into an event where we raise funds to give back to various organizations throughout our local communities. It’s also a way for us to show our appreciation for the support our vendors have given us throughout the past year. While we have fantastic customers and amazing managers and associates working in our stores, the help and support of our vendors has been a critical factor in Strack & Van Til’s success for the past 95 years. We look forward to continuing to help make Northwest Indiana an even better place to live.”
The Charity Foundation Golf Outing last year supported many charitable organizations from across the Region including Fair Haven, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Hospice NWI, Dunes Learning Center, Down Syndrome Association Northwest Indiana.
Joe Stupka, regional vice president of Strack & Van Til, looks forward to lending much-needed support to local organizations and connecting with representatives of Strack & Van Til’s vendors.
Stupka considers the golf outing to be an excellent opportunity to strengthen the relationships between Strack & Van Til and its vendors. “The golf outing gives us the opportunity to get away from the day-to-day grind,” Stupka said. It’s an opportunity for us to get away from the office and think about other things for a bit while allowing us to continue to build better relationships with our vendors and raise money for good causes that support the people living in the communities we serve,” Stupka said. “As we build stronger relationships with our vendors, we are then able to procure better deals. This will ultimately enable us to offer our customers improved options as they shop for products in our stores. By cultivating these important relationships with our vendors, Strack & Van Til will continue to grow stronger over time and better serve our customers.”
