Bob Wanek, Valparaiso Family YMCA CEO announced two promotions to Vice President this week. Debra Koeppen was promoted to VP Chief Development Officer in charge of association advancement, and Deborah Winter was promoted to VP Chief Financial Officer overseeing association regulatory environment.
“Combined, this team brings over 50 years of professional experience in the not for profit, charitable sector,” according to Wanek, “and the Valparaiso Family Y is truly blessed to have the talents, commitment, and passion of these two outstanding individuals. This team will be joined by a Senior VP Chief Operations Officer to be named later."
The management reorganization was motivated by the outstanding service growth of the Valpo Y since the new building opened May 2009, expanding from 5,900 to 16,100 members. Rob Thorgren, Chief Volunteer Officer, explained “the Y strategic plan, centered around youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility will challenge our Y team of staff and volunteers to expand our services over the next five years. We are committed to growing and recruiting great leadership to serve the greater Valparaiso area.”
