Live From Valparaiso It's Viking Night Live! 
The Valparaiso High School Drama Club proudly presents: April Antics 2014! The cast has been chosen! Now mark your calendars for Friday, April 25 & Saturday, April 26 at 7pm. The event takes place in the VHS auditorium. April Antics is an annual student-based talent show where a multitude of talents are displayed. Each year the theme is different, and this year is a take on the popular late night show, Saturday Night Live. Be prepared for a great night!

“Company” Opens April 25 at Valparaiso’s Historic Memorial Opera House 
Peer pressure to walk down the aisle and take the plunge is exerted on Robert – the lead character of "Company" – by his once single pals who one by one tied the knot leaving Robert as the lone bachelor of the bunch. Performances are: Fridays on April 25, May 2 and May 9 / Saturdays on April 26, May 3 and May 10 / Sundays on April 27, May 4 and May 11. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

La Porte County Family YMCA Healthy Kids Day 2014 
On Saturday, April 26, the La Porte County Family YMCA is celebrating YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day® with a free community event that encourages kids in La Porte County to get moving and learning, and families living healthier. Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being, takes place at 1,900 Ys and kick-starts healthier behaviors now and throughout the summer, a critical out-of-school time for children’s health.

Rebuilding Together - Portage has Rebuild Day Saturday, April 26th 
Portage (RT Portage) is part of a National Organization that assists homeowners with repairs to their homes that they could otherwise not do themselves. This year, RT Portage is working on six homes plus doing a little work at Gabriel's Horn. This organization is reliant on volunteers and businesses. This year, we have about 400 volunteers that will be working on the different sites, or many other various jobs/duties on that day.

Harbor Buick GMC Hosting Quarter Paddle Auction to Benefit Alzheimer’s Association  
Our next Quarter Paddle Auction for Charity will feature gifts from over 20 vendors, such as Lia Sophia, Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Avon and more! Proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Asssociation and the Jim G. Carpenter Foundation. Just in time for Mother’s Day, too! April 26th! Doors open at 4pm for advance shopping, auction starts at 5pm sharp! Advance tickets available – only $5! Our last event sold out, so purchase early to be sure you get a seat! 16th Annual Be Kind To Animals Pet Care Expo  
The Porter County Animal Shelter has announced their 16th Annual Be Kind To Animals Pet Care Expo to be held on Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Porter County Expo Center. "Be Kind To Animals is one of the most well attended animal care events in northwest Indiana," said Shelter Director Jon Thomas.

11th Annual Samaritan Skedaddle 5k Run/Walk  
On Saturday, April 26 2014 in downtown Michigan City, we celebrate the 11th Samaritan Skedaddle, a 5K Run/Walk, and one of the Samaritan Counseling Center's primary vehicles for fundraising and awareness of the services we provide. The Samaritan Counseling Centers of LaPorte and Porter Counties, Inc. is a much needed not-for-profit community-based interfaith counseling and education service helping individuals, families and couples heal and grow.

Lake County FOP Hosting Spring Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle Fundraiser 
The Lake County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge#125, is having its spring fundraiser, (Old Fashioned Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle), on April 26th at 3:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will be held at the American Legion Post #430 7430 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46307.

Schererville Lions Club to Host Pancake Breakfast  
The annual A.Y.C.E. Shererville Lions Club Pancake Breakfasts will take place on Sunday, April 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, coffee, juice and milk will be served. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children (5-12 years) and free for those under five.

2014 Garden and Pond Expo  
Wind twirlers, stone bird houses, hot tubs, outdoor fireplaces and yard art are just a few of the many exhibits that guests will encounter at the 13th Annual Waterscape Weekend Garden Pond Expo, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 26-27, in the Industrial Arts Building at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court St. Sponsored by the Illiana Garden Pond Society, the Expo is an event set to inspire visitors to take backyards and landscaping to the next level and mesmerize others with incredible display showcased by water features, lighting and garden experts.
