IU Northwest to host A.I.I. Conference Women’s Basketball Championship – Feb 23-25

Indiana University Northwest is hosting the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament on February 23-25. The matches will take place in the Savannah Center Gymnasium, on the north end of the IU Northwest campus, located at 3400 Broadway in Gary, Ind., conveniently accessible from I-80/94.

Valparaiso Family YMCA Community Health Fair – Feb 24

he Valparaiso Family YMCA and St. Mary Medical Center will host a free health fair for the community from 9 am to noon, Saturday, Feb. 24 at the YMCA located at 1201 Cumberland Crossing Drive in Valparaiso. The First Annual PAD Foundation Gala – Feb 24

The PAD Foundation is a new organization that was founded by Elizabeth Bathurst. She began the foundation as a tribute to the memory of her two sons, Peter and Adam Del-Rio-Bathurst, whom were both lost in separate accidents just fourteen months apart.

Humane Indiana Annual Gala – Feb 24

In celebration of the event’s 15th anniversary, the wildlife-themed gala will feature live wildlife ambassadors from Humane Indiana Wildlife, a silent auction, brew samples from Three Floyds Brewing, a family-style dinner, an open bar, and more.

The hottest new star on E! Entertainment Network makes his way to Atlantic City to showcase his unique skills. The man known as the “Hollywood Medium” is the subject of the network’s largest non-spinoff unscripted series of the past three years.

Maple Sugaring Time Demonstration at Friendship Botanic Gardens – Feb 25

Friendship Botanic Gardens will host a free afternoon of winter wilderness discovery at the annual Maple Sugar Time Demonstration. Visitors can take a self-guided nature walk through old-growth woodland trails before stopping by the maple sugaring station to learn how the early inhabitants of North America produced maple syrup. Free children’s crafts will be available at the Friendship Botanic Gardens welcome cabin. IMPORTANT: This event is very dependent on weather conditions. Please check www.friendshipgardens.org for information about rescheduling in the week prior to 2/18.

PNW College Goal Sunday – Feb 25

Applying for college financial aid is not complex and can be extremely beneficial. That’s the message of College Goal Sunday, a free, financial aid application assistance program, scheduled at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Purdue University Northwest campuses and dozens of other Indiana locations.
