May 25: Learn About Columbia at the VIC's Fourth Friday - Valparaiso, IN
The Valparaiso International Center (The VIC), an independent nonprofit organization, will host a presentation about Colombia on Friday, May 25th, at 7 pm. The event is part of The VIC’s Fourth Friday series at the organization’s headquarters, 309 East Lincolnway, Valparaiso. Oscar Castillo is the featured speaker this month. He and his wife, Katherine Bustamante, will talk about the traditions and attractions of their native country. They will focus on Colombia’s natural features and the changing times that present new possibilities for welcoming visitors!
May 25 - 27: Fool for Love - Valparaiso, IN
Sam Shepard has always been a CST favorite and Fool for Love gives audiences a look at an earlier work that led to him becoming one of America’s greatest playwrights. In a seedy motel room on the edge of the Mojave Desert, the story is set for May and Eddie, two lovers who can’t live with or without each other. Surrounded by ghosts of their pasts and a mysterious old man who sits in a corner of the stage, they must survive the passions and volatility that keep drawing them together.

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story,' an adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes!
May 25 - 27: Countryside Park - Portage, IN
This 33-acre park site is located in the southwestern part of the city, along U.S. 6, just east of County Line Road. Countryside Park features a playground, sledding hill, picnic shelter, softball field, and a fishing pond. The park also has access to the Prairie Duneland Trail which passes along the southern boundary of the park. Countryside park is most recognized as the home of the Portage Historical Society and the Alton Goin Historical Museum. The museum along with the restored structures of the Traeger Homestead create a farm-like setting for visitors to enjoy.
May 26: 3rd Annual Ford of Valpo Memorial Day Event - Valparaiso, IN
Since 2007, the Folds of Honor has carried forth this singular, noble mission. To provide educational scholarships to spouses & children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members. Ford of Valpo's motto says it best. Honor their sacrifice.
May 26: Swale Music Festival - Michigan City, IN
The Michigan City Mainstreet Association will host Swale Music Festival at Charles R. Westcott Park – located at 400 E. Michigan Blvd. in Michigan City, IN. Gates open at 1pm and music will begin at 1:15pm. The festival will feature over 20 local and national musical acts. This all-ages event will include craft beer, wine, and food from Smokey G’s BBQ. Pre-sale tickets are currently available for $10 (plus a small service fee) and can be purchased online at swalemusic.com. Tickets will be $15 the day of the event. Children 12 & under are free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
May 26: Team Lifesaver's Annual Porta Pit Chicken - Michigan City, IN
100% of profits from Team Lifesaver's Annual Porta Pit Chicken event will be donated to Relay for Life! The event will be from 10am - 2pm and will feature 1/2 Chicken for $6.50 and Pit taters for $3.50.
May 26: Chesterton's European Market - Chesterton, IN

May 26: Chesterton Cruise Night - Chesterton, IN
Cars of all kinds will be at the Thomas Centennial Park in Chesterton - vintage, sport, and foreign. A night of family fun. Held on the last Saturday of each month, May to September!
May 27: Bailly Cemetery Hike - Porter, IN
Join a ranger-led hike to the historic Bailly Cemetery while learning about the history of the Bailly family. You can also learn about early settlers and farmers who came to this region in the 1800s as well.
