Each weekend we bring you 10 Fun Things to Do in Northwest Indiana so you are never without something to do! This weekend features Easter Egg hunts aplenty, fundraisers for schools, cancer research, Washington Park Zoo, and the Indiana Dunes, and public radio, a global All-Stars basketball game, bowling for Worthy Women, and more!

Volleyball, Men’s Soccer Hosting Spring Action Saturday  
With the Valparaiso men’s soccer program’s annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser upcoming this Saturday, April 12, supporters of the cause will also have the chance to cheer on both the Crusader men’s soccer and volleyball teams in spring action that day as well. The men’s soccer team will be taking on St. Joseph’s College at Eastgate Field at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Then, after the head-shaving fundraiser is complete (runs from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. in Hilltop Gym), the Crusaders will face Benedictine on Brown Field at 4 p.m.

NorthShore Easter Egg Hunt
On Saturday April 12, NorthShore Health Centers will host Easter Egg Hunts at our Portage and Lake Station locations. You can get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, win prizes and hunt for eggs filled with candy and other goodies. If you find the golden eggs you could win a $100 bill or a new bike! The event is open to kids of all ages.

Stars Over Valpo  
WVLP 98.3 would like to invite everyone to our annual fundraising event, "Stars Over Valpo", which is a musical revue featuring the best local artists around. Fun, fast-paced entertainment for every age group and for lovers of good music.

Bowl for Worthy Women  
The sixth annual Bowl for Worthy Women will take place on April 12 at Casey's Lanes in La Porte. All political parties, churches and businesses can be a part of helping worthy Recovery Inc. help La Porte County! We want everyone to be part of the solution!

Marquette High School Hosting 2014 Global Challenge All-Star Game
Marquette Catholic High School will host a "Global All Star" basketball game on Saturday, April 12th at 7pm. The game will feature Indiana student athletes taking on basketball players from around the world. The Indiana Roster includes: · Richie Mitchell (Marquette) · Josh Fleming (LaPorte) · Zack Van Hook (Lowell) · Kennan Simmons (Michigan City) · Gage Ott (LaPorte) · Nate Flores (Marquette) · Cole Teal (Chesterton) · Pat McCarthy (Munster) · Justin King (Bowman).

Hobart Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt  
The Hobart Jaycees annual Easter egg hunt is scheduled for Sunday April 13th 2014. The hunt will be held at Festival Park, 111 E Old Ridge Rd. and will begin promptly at noon, so please be early. This free event is open to all children up to 12 years of age. In addition to collecting candy filled eggs the children will have a chance to meet the Easter bunny, win prizes, and dance at the band shell with DJ Sassy.

Miller Bakery Cafe Save the Dunes
Come celebrate the arrival of springtime and your love for the Indiana dunes at Miller Bakery Cafe on Sunday April 13, 2014 from 4pm to 8pm for the first ever Wine & Dine for Save the Dunes. We will feature over 20 delectable wines to taste, and a luscious dinner buffet with a sampling of popular menu items. A bottle of the much-coveted Dom Pérignon Champagne will be raffled off, a portion of the Wine & Dine proceeds go to Save the Dunes, a local nonprofit organization that established the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore decades ago.

Kiwanis Club Will Hold 9th Breakfast With Easter Bunny
This is the ninth year the Kiwanis Club is holding an all-you-can-eat Breakfast with the Easter Bunny in conjunction with the Portage Park Department and Real Life Church’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 12th. The breakfast features All-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage sponsored by Schoop’s of Portage. It's 8 to 11 a.m. in the Oakwood Hall of Woodland Park. Tickets are available at the door for $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will also be available for free courtesy of Walgreen’s All proceeds will be used to give out 4 scholarships in Myron Fessler’s name to graduating Portage Township seniors. Fessler was a beloved Willowcreek Middle School teacher and coach that succumbed to cancer some years ago.

Hammond 10K/5K Charity Run  
This event raises money for Hammond elementary school students in need. Our goal is to fund a tutoring program to improve the education of our youth and thereby enrich the future of our city! This event takes place at the historic Hammond Civic Center on Saturday April 12, at 8:30 AM.

Zoobilee for Washington Park Zoological Society  
Zoobilee 2014 is happening on April 12! This year the theme is "Stayin' Alive". It promises to be a great night full of exciting entertainment. The event will take place at the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel, and Spa in the Orleans Ballroom from 5pm-11pm. The Washington Park Zoological Society organized this 70's themed gala to raise funds for improvements for the Washington Park Zoo.
