Chicago Street Rings in the Holidays with a Christmas Classic 
Chicago Street Theatre is getting nostalgic this holiday season by treating the community to A Charlie Brown Christmas, running at the theatre November 28 through December 21 The brand new stage adaptation is based on the 1965 classic Charles Schultz TV special and features the lovable Peanuts characters that the late cartoonist created in 1950 and their search for the true meaning of Christmas

See a Show at the Portage IMAX 
The weekend after Thanksgiving is a popular weekend to go see a show, and what better place to do so than at the Portage 16 IMAX? With movies like The Hunger Games, Dumb & Dumber To, Horrible Bosses, Interstellar and more, there's a movie for everyone to enjoy! For listings, click here.  

Kris Kringle Blitz/Downtown La Porte Santa Parade 
Show off your holiday spirit this year by dressing up and running down the middle of Lincolnway in Downtown La Porte. Yes, you read that correctly. The Kris Kringle Blitz is a full costumed, one-mile, fun run that kicks off the Santa Parade. Race starts at 11:15 am, Saturday, November 29th. Blitz participants will receive an event t-shirt while supplies last. Register to run by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 219-362-3178.

Portage Parks Department to Host Christmas Craft Show 
The Portage Department of Parks and Recreation will once again host its annual Christmas Craft Show at Woodland Park on November 29th & November 30th from 9:00am until 3:00pm. There will be over 75 vendors, with more than 20 new vendors added this year. Free admission! Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry.

Crown Point Annual Winter Market set for Saturday November 29th  
The Mayor’s Office of Special Events is announcing the Crown Point Winter Market. After you visit Santa don’t forget to stop in at The Winter Market scheduled for Saturday, November 29th at the Courthouse Ballroom located at 1 N Courthouse Square in Crown Point, In. Due to an overwhelming response of vendors we have added additional vendors to the third floor! The hours for the event will be from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Get some Holiday shopping done from some of your favorite Holiday Vendors and Courthouse Shops. The Winter Market is a hometown event for attendees to shop for holiday crafts, buy custom gift baskets, jewelry, homemade items, baked goods, seasonal coffees, Christmas trees and so much more.

Two-Day Model Train Show Coming to Crown Point 
Toy and model train collectors and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy a two-day train show at the Lake County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 30. The show will feature all gauges of model and toy trains, with featured brands including Lionel, American Flyer (also known as S-Gauge), Marx, HO and more. The show will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30. Santa Claus will also be available to meet with children from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. both days. Cost to attend the show is $5 per person, or free for those under 18.

Walking in a Whiting Wonderland 
A first for the City, and kicking off the festivities is the Whiting Lakefront Holiday Light Spectacular. This drive-thru display of lights will be set up in beautiful Whiting Lakefront Park and consist of over 100 different holiday light displays. Stay warm in the car with family and fix your eyes on the twinkling holiday lights along the lake. Some of the sparkling displays include a Penguin Winterfest, Toyland, a Teddy Bear Village, and Reindeer and Santa Band. The holiday lights will be lit at dusk each day from November 28th until January 5th for public viewing.

Hometown Holiday Celebration to be Held on Saturday, November 29 
Duneland’s Hometown Holiday Celebration will take place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The festivities will extend through the month of December as Santa Claus visits Duneland children in his house in Thomas Centennial Park. Event celebrations are coordinated by the Duneland Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Chesterton, the Chesterton Police, Parks and Street Departments, and the Chamber organizations and volunteers.

Santa's March & Tree Lighting Ceremony in Highland 
Parade with Santa through downtown Highland, ending at the Main Square Gazebo. Hot chocolate will be served. Join us for the lighting of Main Square Park for the holiday season. Afterward, Santa will have treat bags for good boys and girls. This is made possible with a generous donation from Culver’s.

The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Night Out at the Star Plaza Theatre
