Taltree Mother's Day 5K
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a healthy morning run through Taltree’s beautiful spring landscape. This family friendly 5K (3.1-mile) trail run/walk is for the serious and not-so-serious racers. Event proceeds go to support Taltree Arboretum & Gardens environmental restoration, conservation and education initiatives. Computerized timing provided by T&H Timing. No dogs. No strollers, bicycles, in-line skates, scooters or other vehicular traffic allowed on the course.
Hobart Jaycees Women's Expo & Quarter Paddle Auction on May 10
The Hobart Jaycees 5th annual Women's Expo is May 10 at the Hobart Elk's Lodge (3580 West 61st Avenue, Hobart) from 10 - 2:30 and this year in addition to great shopping we will be holding a Quarter Paddle Auction! Hometown Happenings Beast Boot Camp 5K Will Help Send Marines to Marine Corps Ball
These contests are among the activities planned in conjunction with the Beast Boot Camp 5K being held this Saturday, May 10 at 9 a.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Designed and staffed by U.S. Marines, this event features stations along the course with boot camp exercises
2014 Farm Demonstration Day
NIHPA (Northern Indiana Historical Power Association) will be hosting a Farm Demonstration Day on Saturday May 10th at 9 a.m. at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. The group will plow and disk the remaining fields to prepare them for the planting of corn. In addition, they will be plowing and disking north of Sawmill to prepare for their annual corn maze.
La Porte Kiwanis Club 2014 Mother’s Day Flower Sale
The Kiwanis Club of La Porte will host a Mothers’ Day flower sale on Saturday, May 10, 2014. All of the hanging baskets and potted geraniums are grown locally at Perennials Galore. Many colors and varieties will be available, just in time for Mother’s Day! The proceeds from the sale will be used to maintain and continue to beautify the park.
1st Annual Maple City Pub Crawl
On Saturday night, May 10th take a stroll through Downtown La Porte and join in the 1st Annual Maple City Pub Crawl. From 5 – 8 p.m. participating downtown restaurants and bars will be offering specials including tastings and entertainment.
Opening Day 2014 at Imagination Glen
On May 10, 2014 come join the BMX community for an evening of double points racing at single points prices out at Imagination Glen BMX Park 2190 State Road 149 Portage, IN 46304. Imagination Glen BMX track will be hosting future races for Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, Olympic Day, and the Indiana State Racing Series. The track was started in 2000 and has provided numerous levels of competition for thousands of kids and adults alike.
