10 Fun Things To Do This Weekend in Northwest Indiana: Trick or Treat, Marathon, and Harvest Festival


Each week we will be bringing you 10 fun things to do in Northwest Indiana over the weekend, so you are never without something to do! This weekend TONS of Halloween events, a marathon, a car care event, a wine tasting, and more are all on tap for a fun weekend in Northwest Indiana!

Bring your little goblins down to County Line Orchard for an exciting night of Music, fun, and treats! In our newly finished barn, we have over 100 sponsor tables passing out candy and goodies. Come join us for a night of fun complete with costume contest and live music!

Bring your costumed kiddos for trick-or-treating in downtown Chesterton! From 4pm - 6pm on Friday, October 25, look for orange event flyers in the windows of participating businesses along Indian Boundary, Calumet and Broadway. Be sure to stop by the Chamber parking lot and Thomas Centennial Park for extra treats!

Halloween 13 at Catch 22!
Celebrate Halloween with Catch 22! On Saturday, October 26th, the restaurant will host an exciting party, featuring $2 well drinks and $2 domestic pints. The night will also play host to a costume contest and prizes!

Fall Harvest Festival in Downtown Valpo
Please join us for a community night of safe and fun trick-or-treating in downtown Valparaiso. Businesses will be handing out candy! There will also be free hayrides given by the Parks Department and Leonardo & the Makin' Waves Band will provide family entertainment from Porter Health Amphitheater!

Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson joined other city officials, event organizers and sponsors at a press conference to share details about the “Dawn of the Dunes” Marathon at Marquette Park. The event is the first of its kind for the steel city and will also include a half marathon, 5K and fun run for children.

Free Car Care Event
Harbor Buick GMC is hosting our Annual Free Fall Car Care Clinic on Saturday, October 26th from 8:00am to 12:00pm! The event includes free personalized inspection of your vehicle, a full report, free giveaways, raffle, free pumpkins, and more!

A beer and wine tasting will be held Friday, October 25th, from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Stardust Center at Blue Chip Casino. This event will benefit a domestic violence shelter in Michigan City, Stepping Stone Shelter. The band "The Currents" will reunite just for this benefit! 12-15 food stations will be offered, with each station featuring a beer and wine that compliments the food. There will also be a costume contest and a silent auction.

A Night of Edgar Allan Poe
Come for an evening of radio-style, terrifying tales by candlelight. Enjoy coffee and dessert while listening to these great dark and moody classics – The Pit and the Pendulum, The Raven, and The Masque of the Red Death. These auto-classics are read by legendary British actor Basil Rathbone, famed for his 1920s-1960s theater and movie career.

2nd Annual Flame & Flair Halloween Festival
The event offers an array of entertainment for all including live fire dancing performances by The Gypsy Circus Tribe & Crimson Pulse Firedancing on the 600 block of Franklin Street, Trick or Treating Downtown, a Thriller Street Dance performance, downtown bed races, séances and a haunted house.

Halloween Events at Bieker Woods
The Munster Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Munster Boy Scouts and Munster Girl Scouts will be hosting its annual Bieker Woods Night Walks during School Town of Munster Fall Break, Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26. With decorations, lights, and things that go bump in the night, this haunted walk will tingle your senses!
