#1StudentNWI: Boone Grove High School honors students for academic achievement

Every year at Boone Grove High School, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are honored for their academic achievements. Qualifying for these honors is not an easy task. Each student must maintain good grades and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Sophomores and juniors receive an academic letter and seniors are entered into the Academic Hall of Fame. The Academic Hall of Fame recognizes seniors by adding their photos and GPA to a plaque displayed on a wall in the school.

Unfortunately, this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boone Grove High School was unable to hold the traditional honors breakfast for the Boone Grove honors students. Under normal circumstances, students would be invited to an early morning breakfast to celebrate their academic achievements. Each student would be recognized in front of their families and peers as they received a certificate commemorating their success.

Although the breakfast had to be canceled, the school still wanted to find a way to honor the students for their academic achievements. Below is the list of students who have met the requirements for the academic letter and entrance into the hall of fame, in order of their class ranks. In total, there are 30 sophomores, 51 juniors, and 33 seniors being honored this year.

“The academic letter at Boone Grove High School is a huge accomplishment, and I am very proud of every one of these students! They spend late nights and weekends working on projects, studying for exams, and doing homework. Their hard work and dedication don't stop in the classroom with letter grades. These students put in so much extra time and commitment to being involved. They give back to this school and community in the band, choir, drama, athletics, student council, key club, National Honor Society, and much more. All our seniors who finish their seventh semester with a 3.5 GPA will forever be remembered for their hard work and academic excellence in the Academic Hall of Fame. Their work ethic and academic excellence are paving the way for a bright future," said Assistant Principal James Rosinia.

“Congratulations to all who have achieved their academic letter this year, and especially to the seniors who have earned hall of fame status! It is an incredible feat to maintain a high-level GPA during the turbulent year that has transpired. Your efforts and their outcomes have laid a foundation for you to choose your own path. Great job again!” said Principal Clay Corman.

Congratulations to all the students who put in the hard work and effort this school year!
