Sister Carmel Marie Sallows, C.S.C., a special friend of Center for Hospice Care and Hospice Foundation (HF), recently celebrated her 25th anniversary of serving CHC as a volunteer. She volunteered at our inpatient unit when it was in Roseland, helped us at various HF fundraising events and continues to volunteer at Milton Village, the new home of Milton Adult Day Services.
In 2018, Sister Carmel received CHC’s Helping Hands Award in recognition of her community service spanning more than 60 years. At that time, CHC created the Sister Carmel Helping Hands Fund as a special way to honor her service. Donations to the fund support CHC’s promise to the community that dates back to 1980: no person eligible for hospice services would be turned away due to an inability to pay.
