The Association of Artists and Craftsmen of Porter County is please to announce a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a Porter County high school senior planning to major in art or art education at the college of their choice. 3 items are necessary to apply - a letter of intent, a portfolio and sketchbooks. The typewritten letter of intent should indicate which school he/she plans to attend, why the interest in art, and what the future plans in the field of art might entail. The portfolio should include both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work. (2-dimensional work should be matted.) Sketchbooks should reflect a variety of creative concepts personal to each student.
Interested seniors may contact Judy Gregurich at the Chesterton Art Center for further details. The applicants must submit their information no later than Friday, May 10. Portfolios and sketchbooks can be picked up on Monday, May 13. The Chesterton Art Center is open 11-4 weekdays and 1-4 weekends. The Art Center is located at 115 S. 5th St., Chesterton, IN 46304.
