Ash Tree Tags To Remain Until May

Purdue-ExtensionPurdue Extension – Porter County, Master Gardener’s and Valparaiso Public Works partnered together to tag Ash trees in the Valparaiso city right of ways on March 12, 2012. These tags were placed on all of the ash trees to create awareness and provide education to the public about the Emerald Ash Borer.

Over 600 trees were tagged and these tags will be removed in late May. The tags should remain on the trees until removed by these organizations. Unfortunately quite a few tags have already been removed. Please leave these tags on the trees to allow the public to benefit from this awareness effort. If you have questions or concerns about the tags, please call your local Extension Office at 219-465-3555. Lyndsay Ploehn, Agriculture & Natural Resource Educator, will be happy to assist you.
