If you have not had the pleasure yet, meet Monica. She has been the Business Office Manager at Avalon Springs Health Campus since 2013. Wow! Congratulations on 10 years and counting with us.
When asking Monica what her favorite memory was, she stated that it was when a resident on our Assisted Living wing found out that her daughter-in-law was related to Monica's stepdad. She would always tell everyone that they were family when she would introduce Monica. It always brought a smile to both of their faces!
Helping residents and families with their financial questions is what she loves most about her job, even after 21 years of service, she still loves helping when she can.
The best advice Monica has received from residents is "respect your elders", "focus on the good", and "laugh more and live each day to the fullest."
If Monica could tell her story in six words, they would be, "Be who you are and do not change for anyone."
Her favorite meal at Avalon Springs is Chef Bob's Reuben because it is delicious!!
The best Employee Party (ER3) she has attended is the Census Barbecue (2022) because she always enjoys the water slide, and it gave some of her fellow employees the opportunity to throw pies in her face.
While Monica has yet to lead an activity, she has mentioned she was willing to help with Bingo.
If she could look back on her life and give her younger self advice, she would not do that. She says that what has happened in her life has made her the woman she is today.
