Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-South Haven Unit Hosts Blood Drive

SH-blood-driveBoys & Girls Clubs of Porter County – South Haven Unit's mini gymnasium was transformed into a Red Cross "giving station." From 10 am to 3 pm on March 1, 2014, the South Haven Unit's Keystone and Torch Club members collaborated with the Red Cross and initiated a blood drive in an effort to bank needed blood for the purpose of saving lives. The Club's Keystone and Torch community service groups set a goal to collect 25 units of useable blood. This goal was exceeded with the collection of 32 units of blood!

"It is our mission to inspire and enable the youth of our community to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring individuals. Our Club staff impresses the importance of good character and leadership with our Club members. I was proud that our Keystone and Torch Clubs embraced the spirit of collaboration with the American Red Cross – all for the common goal of saving lives," stated Ron Ranta, unit director for the South Haven Club site.
