Calvary Link: For Your Joy

By: Calvary Church Last Updated: October 31, 2012

calvary-link-headerI want you to grow--for God's glory and your joy! This Sunday I'm talking about the things that get in the way of our spiritual growth. We are listening to the very words of Jesus on the topic--and I'm going to talk about how we can apply these words to our lives so that we can grow for God's glory and our good. Vertical verse-by-verse preaching is back! We've got the greatest worship band in the region leading us once again this week--and we are also going to eat and drink together in celebration of our salvation.

Did you know that 25 people just completed our most recent Catalyst Membership class at Calvary--and that's not including the children who took our Children's Catalyst Class for Baptism and membership! This is happening because YOU are WITNESSING. Wow! And if you have a friend coming to church--tell them I want to have a cup of coffee with them this Sunday night at Cornucopia. I love meeting new people you're inviting to church.

I'm thankful to be your pastor--I'm all in for your joy--and I'm so glad we are spreading the Word throughout Northwest Indiana and the World--together.

For Your Joy,

Lionel

PS. I just downloaded the song Who You Are by Kristian Stanfill on the Passion White Flag album so I'm ready to sing it this Sunday. God loves NEW Songs (Ps. 96:1)!

What's new at Calvary...

Daylight Saving Time
Did you know that this Sunday, 11.4 is when NW Indiana and other areas “fall back” as we end Daylight Savings Time? On Saturday night, don’t forget to set your alarm clock back one hour so that you can join us for worship at Calvary at 9 or 10:45a on Sunday morning.

Coffee With The Pastors
Calvary guests are invited to join us this Sunday, 11.4 from 6:30-8p at Cornucopia Coffee Company. Learn about Calvary’s values and vision, and take the opportunity to ask questions of the pastoral staff in a casual environment. We would love to meet you! RSVP at the Info Desk or www.calvaryweb.net.

Calvary Live Coming
Sunday 11.18, the very first Calvary Live worship album, Mighty Fortress. The album was recorded here at Calvary, live on Sundays and features the Calvary worship team. It includes 12 popular worship songs such as 10,000 Reasons, Lord I Need You, and Our God. Be sure to get your copy in just a few weeks!

Miscellanies Blog
Pastor Lionel returns to the Gospel of Mark with an exposition on the parable of the sower. Jesus isn't talking farming techniques; he's explaining Why Some People Don't Grow.

Its that time of year again, to collect shoeboxes of goodies to be delivered with the Gospel to children around the world. Calvary has set a goal of filling 300 boxes by 11.11. Visit the Operation Christmas Child table near the Children’s Welcome Center for more information!

Books Still Available
We are rejoicing in the publication of our Senior Pastor's first book, A New Kind of Missionary: What Every Christian Needs to Know About the Global Church. The book is available at www.amazon.com and other online booksellers. A small number of copies are still available for $10 at the Calvary Church Library. Any proceeds for the books sold at Calvary will go to Pastor Lionel's favorite charity, Mission Mitaboni in Kenya.

Lost & Found
Did you know there's a Lost & Found at the Info Desk? Bibles, personal belongings and other items are regularly found in the church facility. Stop by and see if your lost item is there.
