We finished the year strong together! Thank you for your faithful and generous giving all year. Because of you, our church rescues orphans; cares for families and individuals; supports church plants; provides hope and healing for hurting people; shares the gospel in our community; fights for joy and “does life” together in Life Groups; hosts Bible studies, worship gatherings, and conferences; and makes room for more people to join us in worshipping our good God. In short, we have seen lives change forever because of Jesus. What a legacy for 2017!
We’re working on closing out our 2017 financial year and preparing a report to share with you. It’s filled with stories so you can see the real stories and real lives behind the numbers. You’ll see the year-in-review report and your 2017 giving statements in the mail before the end of January.
This Sunday, we continue in 1 Peter. Our Director of Women’s Ministries, Victoria Peasley, and I are teaming up to minister God’s Word and encourage you. On behalf of the Calvary staff, let me say that we are overwhelmed by the blessing you are to us.
Lectio Divina
Looking for the perfect daily devotional for 2018? Might we suggest Lectio Divina? Here’s why our staff loves Lectio Divina (besides the fact that it’s written by Pastor Lionel):
- It’s flexible. You can read the whole Bible in a year or choose to read a shorter selection of Scripture each day.
- It’s rooted. Pastor Lionel’s daily commentary reveals some of the history surrounding the day’s Bible reading.
- It’s relevant. Every day Pastor Lionel connects the day’s reading to your life.
- It’s convenient. Get Lectio Divina on the Calvary app, online at calvarydevos.net, or in your email inbox. Your daily devotions are always with you, wherever you are.
Check out the Lectio Divina site to sign up and to see sample devotions and resources for your daily walk with the Lord.
