CCSJ Bowling Keeps Rolling at Norse Classic

CCSJ-Bowling-Keeps-Rolling-at-Norse-Classic Let the good times roll. Both the men's and women's Calumet College of St. Joseph bowling teams were in action at the Norse Classic this past weekend, each with their own set of goals. For the Lady Wave, finishing out the season on a strong note was the key, with the men looking for one more solid tournament preformance to get them ready for the last tier one event of the year. Both achieved their goals, as they took home two top two finishes on Saturday afternoon in Kentucky.

RESULTS
Men's Team: 1st out of 15 (7,641 Total Pinfall)
Women's Team: 2nd out of 13 (4,866 Total Pinfall)

TOP MEN'S BOWLER
Shaun Quinn Jr. (SO/Evergreen Park, Ill.) – 1st place/1,144 Total Pinfall

TOP WOMEN'S BOWLER
Lindsey Norton (JR/Highland, Ind.) – 3rd place/961 Total Pinfall

HOW IT HAPPENED
The men took home top honors behind some extremely gritty performances. Shaun Quinn Jr. won first place in the individual portion of the tournament for the second straight year, but that wasn't the most impressive part of his weekend. Quinn also threw the third 300 individual tournament game in Crimson Wave men's bowling history, joining alums Nick Eckert and Michael Davidson in the very elite group. Dylan Dobran (FR/Centerville, Ohio), Tyler James (SR/Deltona, Fla.), Petey Vergos (SO/Orlando, Fla.), and Nicco Vicari (SR/Orlando, Fla.) all finished in the top 16, but the end result was a complete team effort. The Crimson and Gray dominated the baker round to take first place in the tournament by a total of 483 pints.

The Lady Wave also found success this past Saturday, bouncing back from a less than desired finish at the Midwest Collegiate Classic. Lindsey Norton led the three women bowlers that finished in the top 11, which also included Danielle Rudnickas (SR/Highland, Ind.) (who bowled a 300 in league play last week) and Viktoria Hines (JR/La Porte, Ind.). Norton took third place, just 34 pins away from the individual championship. Cal College had the second highest baker total with 2,097 pins, securing their second top two finish of the season.

WHO'S ON DECK?
While the women's regular season has wrapped up, the men still have one more tournament left before the Xbowling USBC ISC/ITC Sectionals. That match will occur on February 16th and 17th when they travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for the second time this season to roll at the Hoosier Classic, their fourth tier one event of the year.
