Center for Hospice Care Names New Director of Nursing

Center for Hospice Care (CHC) is proud to announce Christine (Chrissy) Madlem, RN as the organization’s new Director of Nursing. Ms. Madlem is succeeding Angie Fox, RN, CHPN who served the agency for more than 3 years.

Chrissy will be an integral part of the Leadership team. She will be responsible for ensuring every patient is provided with the highest level of care and that the care meets every patient’s distinctive needs. She will also play a crucial role in guiding the work of those who provide medical care and ensuring that every facet of the Center for Hospice Care’s patient care program is operating at the highest of standards.

Chrissy Madlem brings over twenty-six years of nursing experience with almost seventeen of those years with CHC. Prior to being promoted to Center for Hospice Care’s Director of Nursing, Chrissy has served CHC in multiple capacities including being Case Manager, Patient Care Coordinator, Director of Inpatient Services, and Clinical Staff Educator. Prior to her Center for Hospice Care career, Chrissy served in a hospital setting for over ten years that concentrated on medical/surgical and cardiac/ICU nursing.

Chrissy attended Lake Michigan College and is currently working to complete her master’s in nursing leadership and management through Western Governor’s University. Chrissy is happily married to her husband Michael; they have three adult children and six grandchildren. They love spending time with their family which includes having weekly family nights, camping, and vacationing together. Chrissy teaches Sunday School and is active in Kids church. She loves baking and making new creations in her kitchen to where her husband is her expert taste tester. Chrissy shared that her father died at 51 years of age of leukemia and was never offered hospice care. When she completed clinicals in nursing school with a hospice nurse she knew everyone should have a choice of hospice care at end of life. Chrissy wanted to give back peace of mind and services to families that her father was not able to have.
