Charity Car Wash

Reilly C. Bush Memorial Foundation Springs into Action Non-profit fundraising event encourages driving away clean!  With the ailing economy, it’s the best way for nonprofit fundraisers to encourage folks to donate – give them something for their money. With Northwest Indiana recovering from a brutal winter and yearning for spring’s arrival, this fundraiser is offering a much needed car wash!

This week the Reilly C. Bush Memorial Foundation kicked off its campaign for their annual Car Wash Fundraiser and they’ve made it extremely easy for drivers and car owners to contribute. Now, you won’t see teens standing on the side of the road with huge handmade signs with the words “Car Wash” scribbled on them. Nor will you have a group of fundraising go‐getters sudsing up your car or hosing it down while you search your wallet for the exact change. In fact, it’s as easy as making a pit stop for gas, no kidding! On April 4th, beginning at 7AM through 9PM, the Car Wash Fundraiser will be hosted at all Luke’s $5 Car Wash stations throughout Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana.

Drivers can give a donation and get a professional car wash. This is the third consecutive year the business is hosting the fundraiser at its stations, with 100 percent of all proceeds going to the Reilly C. Bush Memorial Foundation. Last year, the non‐profit raised more than $25,000 during the Car Wash Fundraiser.

Organizers hope despite the economy, folks will want a car wash for just $5. In 2008, five of Luke’s $5 Car Wash stations in Northwest Indiana took part in the fundraiser. This year, the car wash giant will host the fundraiser at all six of their locations; in South Hammond, North Hammond, Schererville, Merrillville, Portage and Valparaiso.

Contributors should know that they can choose to donate more than $5 to the fundraising efforts, 100 percent of those funds will also absolutely benefit the nonprofit. At the Luke’s $5 Car Wash in Valparaiso, a team of Valparaiso High School students will be working as part of their involvement in the organization’s Philanthropy Boot Camp. All funds raised at their station will benefit other Porter County nonprofits.

Philanthropy Boot Camp at Valparaiso High is the first of its kind in the area and will be offered at surrounding public schools in the near future. “The Reilly C Bush Foundation works hard to teach children the value of giving back. With the help of Luke Oil, we would like to spread our program throughout greater Northwest Indiana. The support on April 4th will not only contribute to a good cause, but bring a priceless opportunity to our youth and future generation,” said Executive Director Michelle Bush.

The Reilly C. Bush Memorial Foundation focuses on teaching and enabling children to pay it forward through philanthropy.
