In an effort to accommodate an expected increase in ridership for the Chicago Pride Parade, the South Shore Line will offer additional capacity and extra passenger trains on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Extra westbound capacity to Millennium Station Sunday, 6/25:
Tr 504 and Tr 606 heading west to Millennium Station will have additional capacity to accommodate passengers heading to Chicago in the morning. These trains will make all regular stops to Chicago.
Extra eastbound departures from Millennium Station Sunday, 6/25:
In the afternoon, eastbound passenger extras will run following the parade and events.
The first eastbound Extra will depart Millennium Station at 4:25pm (Van Buren St. at 4:28pm), run non-stop to Hegewisch and make all local stops terminating at Gary Metro Center Station.
The second eastbound Extra will depart Millennium Station at 6:00pm (Van Buren St. at 6:03pm), run non-stop to Hegewisch and make all local stops terminating at Gary Metro Center Station.
The eastbound extra trains will not serve stations east of Gary Metro Center.
As a reminder, the South Shore Line reserves the right to remove disorderly passengers. Disorderly conduct includes, but is not limited to, public indecency/nudity, and drunken or disruptive conduct.
Alcohol is PROHIBITED ON ALL TRAINS on June 25. Please remember glass bottles are prohibited at all times.
