The Chicago Street Theatre began a partnership with Camelot Coffee to bring tasty treats and beverages to the theatre. The partnership debuted on Friday, April 1 ahead of the premiere of "Doing Durang." Guests arrived for the 8 p.m. show and stopped by Camelot Coffee to pick up iced lattes, drip coffee, or their specialty drink, Merlin’s Potion–a flavored Italian soda mixed with your choice of flavored boba.

This partnership is an exciting opportunity for both the Chicago Street Theatre and Camelot Coffee. Gina Zieniewicz, owner of Camelot Coffee, shared that this is a unique opportunity for a community theatre and is not only a perfect fit but hopefully a permanent addition to the area.

“We are excited and thrilled to be here, They're is no other community theatre that has a coffee shop in their theatre, so I am thrilled to be able to offer that to them,” Zieniewicz said.

Zieniewicz has been a part of the Chicago Street Theatre family for many years and spent time as an instructor for the theatre's education program and also had a son who grew up taking classes at the theatre.

“Gina has been part of Chicago Street for 12 or 13 years now,” Lisa Formosa-Parmigiano, Director of Education at the Chicago Street Theatre said.

Formosa-Parmigiano, who helped bring Camelot Coffee to Chicago Street, shared that she thought this partnership would be a wonderful way to grow the theatre and highlight not only a great local brand but also the newly renovated lobby area.

As guests arrived for the opening night of both Camelot Coffee and "Doing Durang," they immediately noticed the wonderful smell of brewed coffee and waited for their beverages while talking with each other. Guests are welcome to enjoy their beverages throughout the show and visit the coffee shop before each show or during intermission.

“I think it’s going to be a big hit, it’s going to be great for the audience to have some new treats and drinks,” Tyler Mills, director of "Doing Durang," shared.

"Doing Durang" runs through April 10 at Chicago Street Theatre. Visit www.chicagostreet.org to see the upcoming schedule or to purchase tickets.
