The Association of Artists and Craftsmen of Porter County awarded a $500 art scholarship to Corey Gardner, a recently graduated Valparaiso High School senior. Corey will be attending the University of St. Francis in Ft. Wayne this fall. His goal is to have a career in animation, hopefully working at Disney's Pixar Studios.
Each year, the AACPC invites Porter County high school seniors to apply for this scholarship. The award is given to a student pursuing a degree in an art-related field. To apply, seniors must submit a letter of intent, sketchbooks, and a portfolio of their work. The AACPC is connected to the Chesterton Art Center, located at 115 S. 4th St., Chesterton, IN 46304. To see a full list of events and classes held at the Art Center, please see the website at www.chestertonart.com.
