This year, the City of Crown Point is celebrating Oktoberfest with a two-day, family friendly festival.
Oktoberfest returns to Bulldog Park, 183 S. West St., from 5-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7.
The change comes as the City saw a demand for a more traditional Oktoberfest.
“Last year, the City added traditional Oktoberfest entertainment to the event,” Crown Point Mayor Pete Land said. “After an overwhelmingly positive response, we decided to expand the event to include even more traditional music and cuisine.”
The free event features something for everyone, including contests, live music, local food vendors, a beer garden, face painting, hayrides, a bean bag tournament and more!
This is the 15th year the City has hosted an Oktoberfest celebration. Local food vendors will offer German-inspired fare and seasonal menu items.
On Friday, Oct. 6, live music will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. The International Polka Association (I.P.A.), a polka band, will perform from 5-7 p.m. Derek Caruso & The Blues Fuse, a blues rock band, will close out the night from 7:45-10 p.m.
Registration for the bean bag tournament will open at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. The tournament will start at 5:30 p.m.
Matt Wagner’s German Brass Band, a traditional German polka band, will kick off the night’s live music from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Dyllyngyr, a classic rock band, will perform from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Bonfire, an AC/DC tribute, will close out the event from 7-9:30 p.m.
