The City of Crown Point will continue to make Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements across the City in partnership with Lake County.
This fall, the Lake County Community Economic Development Department awarded $120,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding to the City to install ADA ramps, also known as truncated domes.
Economic Development Director Greg Falkowski explained the City has used the funding to install detectable warning surfaces across the City as local roads are improved during paving season, as well as overhaul the existing chairlift at City Hall.
Crown Point Mayor Pete Land thanked the County for its continued partnership, noting the City’s local road project list for the coming year will be available in early to mid-2025.
“We’re grateful for our continued partnership with the Lake County Community Economic Development Department, which allows us to make our City safer and more accessible for everyone,” Land said. “This partnership exemplifies, ‘Building a Stronger Community from Within.’”
