The Crown Point Police Department is pleased to announce the return of its Youth Summer Camp.
This year’s camp will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, July 29, through Wednesday, July 31, under the Franciscan Health Pavilion at Bulldog Park, 183 S. West St.
Camp participants must be 6-9 years old and live within City of Crown Point limits. There is no registration fee. Snacks will be provided.
Participants will learn about the responsibilities of a police officer, how police officers stop crime through investigations and bicycle safety. Participants also will discuss bullying and learn about fire prevention at Crown Point Fire Rescue.
On the last day of camp, participants will need their bicycles for a safety demonstration. Lunch will be provided on the last day of camp.
“Last year, our youth camp saw an overwhelming community response. We look forward to welcoming new campers this year and highlighting our officers and department,” Crown Point Police Chief Ryan S. Patrick said.
Registration is now open and available online at www.crownpoint.in.gov. The deadline to sign up is Friday, July 12.
