Daggett Named Valpo Sprints Coach

After wrapping up a successful Valparaiso University track & field career this past spring, Emanuel Daggett is remaining with the program in a new role.

Daggett has joined head coach Ryan Moore’s staff as the team’s sprints coach. He finished a commendable career with the program by earning CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition following the 2021 campaign.

Daggett was a standout in both competition and in the classroom during his career at Valpo and is local to the area after graduating from Gavit High School in Hammond, Ind.

Daggett’s name is etched in the Valpo track & field record book in numerous locations, as he ranks fifth in program history in the indoor 200-meter dash (22.53, 2020), third in the indoor 400 (48.96, 2020) and tied for third in the outdoor 400 (48.80, 2021). He was also part of a 2019 4x400 relay squad that posted a 3:23.35, fifth in program lore. He garnered 2020 All-Missouri Valley Conference accolades in the 400-meter dash by virtue of a 48.96.
