Discovery Day and Adventure Camp Bursting with Fun!

Valpo-Parks-Discovery-Campers-2011Valpo Parks has set the themes for Discovery Day and Adventure Camp! Rain or shine… at Discovery Camps, it’s Summer Time!! Located at Rogers-Lakewood Park, every week is theme-based at the 122 acre site and filled with an always changing variety of activities. The campers get a chance to play sports, make arts and crafts, go fishing, learn archery, take nature hikes, and go boating! Program Director Phil Blasko doesn’t want to spoil the fun by giving way all the details, but there will be wacky Wednesdays, a scavenger hunt, “car” races, double dare, wild and crazy kids, family feud, jeopardy, slip and slides, and more. There’s even “Ooey Gooey,” “Survivor” and “Salad Dressing” camp days. In addition, kids will enjoy two inflatable days and two field trips. The field trips are to Zao Island and a Gary Rail Cats baseball game. And every Friday is pizza day.

Discovery Camps generally run from 9 AM to 3 PM Monday through Friday from mid-June to mid-August, with before and after camp care offered. The summer camps are available for boys and girls, preschool thru eighth grade and are divided into age-appropriate groups. The camp staff is highly qualified and focused on creating the best experience for the camper. Sign up and find out why Valpo Parks Discovery Camps are the place to be this summer!
