We are excited to announce that Downtown Valparaiso will be participating in the third annual, nationwide, Pink Friday small business shopping experience, on Friday, November 17th, 2023.
Created by The Boutique Hub, Pink Friday is a small business spin on the traditional Black Friday shopping experience, reminding consumers to #shopsmallfirst. Black Friday is the largest shopping day of the year, but the sale and promotions from the big box stores often overshadow the experiences that small businesses are focused on providing. The goal on November 17th is to celebrate the businesses that are the backbone of our local community.
“Pink Friday was created to shine a spotlight on small businesses and encourage everyone to shop consciously during the holiday season.” says Ashley Alderson, Founder and CEO of The Boutique Hub. “There has never been a more important time than now to “Shop Small First”. Small businesses make a big impact in America’s communities, and it’s important that we support them as much as possible.”
Valparaiso Events will have a complete list of participating retailers and restaurants, including their promotions for that day, available at their office off Lafayette Street, along with downtown maps, a photo booth opportunity, and free reusable shopping totes. You can also find the event created @ValparisoEvents on Facebook, named Pink Friday. Shopping small first and looking out for those who always give back first to our community is a great way to kick off your holiday shopping.
“We like to think of Pink Friday as a way to shop, and dine, with your favorite local downtown businesses, giving them a chance to earn your business first before going big on Black Friday.” says Kasey Hoag, owner of Six Cypress Boutique. “Give the little guys a shot first to fill your holiday needs, #pinkisthenewblack.”
