Methodist Hospitals announces the appointment of Ed Romero as the new Chief Financial Officer. Romero joins Methodist from the Lutheran Health Network which is a subsidiary of Community Health Systems located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Prior to joining Lutheran Romero had extensive experience with HCA, which is a for profit health system.
Romero recently served as the market CFO at Lutheran where his primary responsibilities included building financial measurement tools while providing leadership assistance to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Nursing Officer, and the Chief Medical Officer as well as the Chief Quality Officer at a 432-license bed facility.
Romero was directly responsible for organizing and supervising the following operations: Patient Access, Shared Service Center, Finance and Accounting, Health Information Management, Case Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Decision Support, and Net Revenue Reimbursement.

Romero has a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio Texas, a Master of Professional Accountancy in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
