EDGE Youth to Deliver Birthday Baskets to Housing Opportunities

Gifts-and-LightsSt. Paul's youth group, EDGE, is meeting on December 17th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Old St. Paul School. We are going to celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ!

At the EDGE Night, we are going to make "birthday baskets" and deliver them to Housing Opportunities, a shelter for homeless families. All children deserve to have their birthdays celebrated. Sadly, there are some families that do not have enough money to do something special for their children on their birthday. The average age of a homeless person in Porter County is 9 years old (resource: Porter County Community Foundation, PCCF). When a family comes to Housing Opportunities, they will receive a "birthday basket" if they have a child's birthday that particular month. The "birthday basket" will contain items so that the child's birthday will be celebrated!

Please join us in making and delivering the baskets!!! EDGE is open to all parish youth in 6th-8th grade. Bring a friend too!

St-Paul-EDGESt. Paul's parish families were VERY generous during an item collection we held in October. We would like to make 22 birthday baskets, but we need just a few more items: empty shoeboxes, small packages of balloons, streamers, packages of napkins, snack plates. If you can, please bring an above item with you. Please call Cathie Dull at 508-5606 with any questions.
