If you’ve run your share of 5K races and your looking for more of a challenge, consider the Run Into Fall 10K Race and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run on September 29th.
“The 10K race is a great distance for all the runners who trained for the Popcorn Panic, as well as for those preparing for the Chicago marathon,” said Leo Fry, race course designer.
The race will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Monticello Park Drive in Valparaiso. The scenic course will take runners around town and through Valparaiso neighborhoods.
The 1 Mile Kids Fun Run will start at 8 am with the 10K race beginning at 8:30 am. Discounted registration is available until September 15th. All preregistered runners will receive a long sleeved technical shirt.
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. They have been supplying food to the residents of Washington and Center Township for over 25 years. In 2011, they gave away 54.3 tons of food to over 6,000 area families in need.
