Porter Health Care System continues to expand its Porter Physician Group. Sean Dardeau, Porter Health Care System and Northwest Indiana Market Chief Executive Officer recently announced the addition of Anish Copra, M.D., gastroenterologist, who joins the group April 15. The Digestive Healthcare office is located at 2206 Roosevelt Road, adjacent to Valparaiso Medical Center. Dr. Chopra, who has joined the medical staff at Porter Regional Hospital, has special interests that include advanced therapeutic procedures related to hepato-biliary and pancreatic disorders, endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatogram (ERCP), diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endo-mucosal resection (EMR) and ESD of complex colon polyps, endoscopic nerve blocks for pancreatic cancer pain therapy, and barrett’s esophagus ablation therapy.
Dardeau, remarked, “The addition of Dr. Chopra to our digestive healthcare group will allow us to better meet the needs of the communities we serve. His experiences and advanced training at both Case Western Reserve and the University of Kentucky are a strong addition to our gastroenterology team. “
Chopra received his medical degree from the Government Medical College in Amritsar, India. He completed his residency as well as a gastroenterology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed an Advanced Interventional Endoscopy fellowship at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky. Chopra is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is also board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Dr. Chopra is accepting new patients at Porter Physican Group’s Digestive Healthcare Associates office where he joins Dr. Stephen Paul, Dr. Hadi Siddiqui, and Dr. Aksahy Trivedi. He accepts most insurance including Medicare and Medicaid. Call 219-464-9507 to schedule an appointment.
