Heinold and Feller Hosts Women’s Day Event

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Heinold and Feller Tire Co. and Lawn Equipment decided to host a Women's Day event open to the public. Many vendors and organizations were invited to come to display their products and services to women in attendance, but the real purpose of Women's Day was to inform and empower. The women were split up into four different groups where employees of Heinold and Feller discussed particular parts that make up a car. Fluids, potential problems that crop up under the hood, tires, and brakes and suspension were the main topics that were introduced to the ladies.

"[This event] is also just a connection and a relationship building with people so we have a factor where we become friends," explained Heinold and Feller President, Joe Feller. "We want to make sure that they can know that we can do what we say we will do, and they can trust what we say to be true."

The event turned out to be a real success with 60-80 women in attendance, and everybody was very appreciative of the information that was being given as well as the pampering from vendors such as Terry Abner Salon and Abigail's Custom Dessert Catering.

"It's very nice and it's very informative," said Gwen Steele of Lake Station. "You'll get into the [repair] shop, and they'll say this and this needs to be done, and you have no clue what they're talking about."

"I think it's good, because I don't know anything about cars," confessed Susan Spuriell from Portage. "He gave me some pointers to listen for like when the car makes certain noises like for the brakes and the tires."

Other vendors that were in attendance were TheHallsEnterprises, The Wellness Center, and Comfort Keepers with Cleaning for a Reason. The American Cancer Society of Northwest Indiana was also present as the event was to promote Breast Cancer Awareness as well.

Speaking of which, during the entire month of October, Heinold and Feller Tire Co. and Lawn Equipment will be donating to the American Cancer Society $5.00 of every $29.99 oil change they provide. If you are due for an oil change, schedule it during this time to help a great cause!
