Horizon Bank recently hosted the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce at its annual Holiday Chamber Party. Horizon, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, hosts this event to give Chamber of Commerce members an opportunity to network as well as give back by donating gifts to Toys for Tots to be distributed to deserving families around Michigan City.
Jennifer Shoup, Vice President, District Manager at Horizon Bank, called the Holiday Chamber Party a key seasonal tradition.
“It's always an important event,” Shoup said. “We get to meet customers and old friends who have been around for a long time and have been loyal to the Michigan City community. The opportunity to stay connected with others in the Michigan City area is so important.”
“We had a great year at Horizon,” Shoup said. “Philanthropy is a big part of Horizon Bank’s culture and one of the proudest moments we've had as an organization was our recent Horizon Cares Day. All of our branches and offices closed at noon and over 750 advisors went out into our communities in Indiana and Michigan to help our local nonprofits with service projects. This showed how we truly go beyond and are committed to bettering our local communities.”
“We've been lucky enough to have Horizon host our Holiday Chamber Party for over 10 years,” said Katie Eaton, president of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce. “It's also our evening to announce our 2024 Spotlight Organization, a program that the Lakefront Career Network has been doing for the last several years in which they choose one nonprofit organization to partner with. They do fundraising, volunteer work, and advocacy for that organization throughout the year. This year Save the Dunes was selected”
“It's the best time of the year to come together as friends, family, co-workers, colleagues and community members and leaders,” Eaton said. “It's a great opportunity for people to network with each other in a relaxed environment and learn more about each other's businesses and organizations and celebrate the great community that we all work and live in.”
Eaton closed the night by once again thanking Horizon Bank for hosting the festivities and providing a platform for all the opportunities the party generated.
