IB Information Night Scheduled at CHS on October 11

Chesterton-TrojansThe Chesterton High School International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program will host an Information Night for Parents and Students in Grades 8-10. The meeting will be hosted on Thursday, October 11 from 7-8 p.m. in the CHS Cafeteria.

The IB program of study is a two-year schedule of classes offered to grades 11 and 12. The curriculum is provided to CHS by the IB World Organization, and this is the same material studied in all of the 3,462 IB member schools in 143 countries. The IB teachers at CHS have all attended training to teach IB classes.

Students are tested at the end of each IB course, and those tests are submitted to an IB examiner for review and grading. Scores awarded can often result in advanced college credit, depending on each college admissions policy. Most graduates of the IB diploma program agree that IB classes taught them to conduct quality research, expand their views of the world, write good essays, and manage their time.
