This position is located in Wanatah, IN at Kankakee Valley REMC.
The primary role of this position is to assist Kankakee Valley REMC’s IT department with computer-related support issues and projects.
Ths intern will have the opportunity to gain experience with the following:
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Active Directory Domain Services
- Physical Infrastructure (racks, cabling, server hardware, etc.)
- Office 365
- Mobile Device Management Software
- Virtualization Technologies
- Storage Technologies
- Backup and Recovery Techniques
- Security Related Software, Hardware, and Best Practices
- Networking
Responsibilities
- Provide support for KVREMC staff with technical requests by email, phone, or in-person
- Install & provide support for computer hardware, software, peripherals, and printers
- Provide application support for Microsoft Windows, Office products, and 3rd party applications
- Support, install, and upgrade various audio-visual equipment used for presentations and training
- Provide accurate documentation of system and network configurations
- Assist with IT-related projects, maintenance duties, and training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Windows operating systems (7, 8, 10) and Office products
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills are desired
- Currently or planning on pursuing an Information Technology related degree
- A valid Indiana driver’s license is required to operate company vehicles
